Hi, Oswaldo here. I'm the Chief Product Officer at Eventscase. Today I'm going to try a new way to communicate things with you.
Many times I talk about what we develop without delving into the "why's" or the problems we are trying to solve. And I think that's very valuable information.
So this time I've decided to first talk to you about the problem you may have encountered in the platform, and later on reveal the solution that we have just implemented.
When you upload images to the platform, they become part of a repository called 'My uploaded images'.
These images cannot be deleted and take up a lot of space.
We have added a button that allows you to delete the images.
When you open a meeting request form and want to add more people, you have a search box to find people according to their first name, last name, company or role.
The problem is that you need to know the specific data of a person to find them, and it is impossible to do a more exploratory search function through here.
In addition, the search results are displayed as a dropdown which may not be very user-friendly in mobile devices.
And lastly, if there are no search results, the user does not see any message indicating this.
We have modified the user experience when adding participants to a meeting, making it possible for the user to scroll through the list of attendees of the event instead of being forced to know their name:
When you add the location of a meeting, the selection of the space where you want to meet has this interface:
When you select one, the other options are disabled.
In addition, you must click on 'Continue' to confirm the space.
The user experience is too complex, forcing the user to make more clicks than really necessary.
We have modified the user experience to make selecting a space easier and requiring fewer clicks. Now, when you click on a space, it is automatically selected.
The Digital Venue session page is divided into 3 large groups composed of different elements:
Session information
Video (optional)
Interaction (optional)
This leads to 4 possible distributions (layouts):
Information
Information + Video
Information + Interaction
Information + Video + Interaction
As the page is designed, the session information takes up very little space and this makes the interface very poor in some cases:
We have modified the information section to make it more visually attractive and look good in all cases, even when there is very little content.
The sponsors section within a session is designed to occupy a single line.
The problem is that when there are many sponsors associated with a session, some of them are "hidden" because they do not fit in a single line and it is necessary to scroll horizontally to see them. Many users do not realise this so some sponsors are left unnoticed.
We have modified the design to always show all sponsors.
When there are many, they are shown in several lines if necessary.
